In Southland Tournament college basketball action on Wednesday, the Lamar Cardinals and the Central Arkansas Bears will be meeting up on the court.

Lamar enters this one with a 19-12 record overall. The Cardinals had a four-game win streak going but lost their last outing versus McNeese. In that one, Lamar guard Nick Garth put up 18 points.

Colton Weisbrod is the top scorer for the Cardinals this year with 15.0 PPG and 8.1 RPG, while Garth has 13.6 PPG to his credit. Also in double-figures for Lamar is Josh Nzeakor (12.1 PPG; 7.4 RPG).

Over on the Central Arkansas side, they’re sitting at 16-15 this year. The Bears have won their last three games, and took out Northwestern State on Saturday. In that victory, Central Arkansas guard Jordan Howard put up 26 points.

Howard is the leading scorer for the Bears this year with 25.8 PPG and 3.7 RPG, while Mathieu Kamba has 14.2 PPG and 6.2 RPG. They’re the only two Central Arkansas players in double-figures but Thatch Unruh is close on 9.4 PPG.

The Bears are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall and the under is 5-0 in their last five neutral-site games. The over is 7-2 in Central Arkansas’ last nine versus a team with a winning percentage above .600.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 1-4 ATS in their last five following a straight-up loss and 0-4 ATS in their last four overall. The over is 4-1 in Lamar’s last five neutral-site games and 4-1 in their last five Wednesday games.

Lamar was on a pretty good scoring run there for a while, but put up just 60 points against McNeese. Their game here should be pretty competitive, as Central Arkansas took a narrow 100-91 2OT win back on January 6. I could go either way on this one, but I’m going to stick with Central Arkansas.
