In Sun Belt Tournament action from Lakefront Arena on Wednesday, the Texas State Bobcats and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will be meeting up on the college basketball court.
Coastal Carolina enters this one with a 14-17 record overall. The Chanticleers had a three-game win streak going but fell on Saturday to Appalachian State. In that one, Coastal Carolina guard Jaylen Shaw put up 13 points.

Tops in scoring on the year for the Chanticleers is Zac Cuthbertson with 14.5 PPG, and Shaw has 14.4 PPG. Also in double-figures for Coastal Caroina are Artur Labinowicz (11.1 PPG) and Demario Beck (10.0 PPG).
Over on the Texas State side, they’re sitting at 14-17 on the year. The Bobcats have lost their last nine straight games, and fell to UT Arlington on Friday. In that one, Texas State forward Alex Peacock put up 24 points.
Heading up the scoring for the Bobcats this year is Nijal Pearson with 15.1 PPG and 5.9 RPG. He’s the only one on the Bobcats roster in double-figures this year but Immanuel King is close on 9.2 PPG.
The Bobcats are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 neutral-site games. The over is 5-1 in Texas State’s last six overall and 5-1 in their last six versus the Sun Belt.
Meanwhile, the Chanticleers are 2-7 ATS in their last nine following an ATS loss and 1-8 ATS in their last nine following a straight-up loss. The over is 5-1 in Coastal Carolina’s last six Wednesday games and 4-1-1 in their last six neutral-site games.
Both the games between these two teams this year were competitive, with Texas State taking the first one on the road 53-48 and Coastal Carolina winning on the road in OT 56-54 on February 1. I’m not thrilled by either one of these teams, but with the skid Texas State is on I’m going to take Coastal Carolina here.
