Coming up on Wednesday from Barclays Center in the ACC Tournament, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Virginia Tech Hokies will be matching up on the college basketball court.

Notre Dame enters this game at 19-13 on the season overall. The Irish skidded to a seven-game losing streak back in January and early February, but since have won six of nine games including Tuesday’s victory over Pittsburgh.

In that Pittsburgh tournament game, Notre Dame won a thriller 67-64. Leading the scoring for the Irish was Bonzie Colson with 19 points and six rebounds. Guard Matt Farrell also had a nice outing for Notre Dame with 18 points.

Over on the Hokies side, they’re sitting at 21-10 on the year. Virginia Tech has lost two of their last three games, dropping to Louisville and Miami in that time. In the Miami game, Hokies guard Justin Robinson put up 18 points.

Robinson leads the Hokies in scoring with 13.8 PPG this year and Justin Bibbs is second on 13.1 PPG. Also in double-figures for Virginia Tech are Kerry Blackshear (12.7 PPG), Ahmed Hill (11.1 PPG) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (11.1 PPG).

Notre Dame is 4-0 ATS in their last four games following an ATS loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games. The Irish are also 2-6 ATS in their last eight neutral-site games and the under is 4-1 in their last five Wednesday games.

Meanwhile, the Hokies are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Virginia Tech is also 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the ACC and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 neutral-site games.

Notre Dame has been on a pretty good run over their last six games, and generally speaking they’re scoring well in that time. The Irish probably should have handled Pittsburgh a little better, though. The last time these teams met, Virginia Tech secured an 80-75 win. The Hokies haven’t been putting up points well lately, but I think they can cover here.
