The Cal Poly Mustangs lock horns with the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in the Big West college basketball playoffs.
The 7th seed Cal Poly Mustangs have had a problem getting both ends of the floor on the page with the team getting outscored 74.2-67.6 which is the reason their record is 9-21. Cal Poly hits shots at 40% and that number has to improve for a deep run in the postseason.

Victor Joseph led the Mustangs with 14.4 points with Donovan Fields averaging 13.3 points and this duo has to have a big game in the quarterfinals. Luke Meikle and Josh Martin combined for another 16 points but again, this twosome have to up their production and give opposing defenses more to worry about.
The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos landed in second after going 2-3 to close the regular season to lose out to UC Davis for the top spot. UC Santa Barbara finished with a 22-9 record with the team outscoring the opposition 76.4-69.9.
The Gauchos received 19.4 points from Max Heidegger followed by Leland King II with 15.9 points and a team high 10.5 rebounds. Jalen Canty gave UC Santa Barbara 12.5 points and 7.7 rebounds while Gabe Vincent averaged 12.5 points.
Cal Poly are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 neutral site games and Cal Poly are 14-39-2 ATS in their last 55 vs. Big West and Cal Poly are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 Thursday games. Under is 22-10 in UCSB last 32 vs. Big West and UCSB are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 Thursday games and UCSB are 17-8 ATS in their last 25 games overall.
The Gauchos have to be angry about blowing the Big West but I wouldn’t go big here…
