The Sun Belt college basketball quarterfinals features a matchup between the UL Monroe Warhawks and the Georgia Southern Eagles.
The UL Monroe Warhawks ended the regular season with losses in two of three but h team regrouped to hammer Arkansas State 76-54 in the first round of the Sun Belt playoffs. UL Monroe Warhawks took control early with a 14 point lead at the half behind a 50%-33.3% shooting edge.

The Warhawks saw Marvin Jean-Pierre lead all scorers with 23 points on 10-13 followed by Travis Munnings with 13 points on 6-10. Louisiana-Monroe received 12 points from Michael Ertel on 5-12 while Sam McDaniel added nine points and five rebounds.
The Georgia Southern Eagles struggled at times over the last month but recovered to win the final three games of the season to secure third in the Sun Belt and finish with a nice 20-11 record. Georgia Southern outscored opponents 76.6-70.5 but averaged over 80 points in winning four of five to end the regular season.
Tookie Brown did it all for the Eagles with 18.9 points on 53.9% while sinking threes at 48%. Ike Smith and Mike Hughes averaged 12 points and 11.5 points but were less then 39% shooters while Montae Glenn gave GSU nine points and eight rebounds.
