Coming up on Saturday from Delmar Fieldhouse, the SWAC Tournament continues in college basketball action with the Texas Southern Tigers and the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions.
The Tigers come into this game with a 14-19 record overall. After starting things out a little rough at 3-15—then later 8-19 on February 19—Texas Southern has rattled off five straight wins and are playing solid basketball right now.

In the Tigers’ 88-74 tournament victory over Prairie View A&M on Friday, the team’s top scorer was guard Donte Clark with 22 points, five rebounds and five assists. Guard Derrick Bruce also had a nice game on 18 points and five rebounds.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff enters this game with a 14-20 record overall. The Lions had a four-game losing streak going back on February 17 when they stood at 9-19, but have since won five of their last six.
In their Friday tournament win 71-65 over Southern, Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s leading scorer was guard Martaveous McKnight with 28 points and eight rebounds. Forward Travon Harper also had a nice game for the Lions with 23 points.
The Tigers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall and 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 following a straight-up win. Texas Southern is also 1-5 ATS in their last six neutral-site games and the over is 9-3 in the last 12 neutral-site games.
Meanwhile, the Lions are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 versus the SWAC and 2-5 ATS in their last seven neutral-site games. The over is 5-1 in Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s last six overall and 4-1 in their last five versus the SWAC.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff has won both of the match-ups between these teams this year, winning 74-72 on January 22 and 62-61 on February 19. Texas Southern has looked very good since then however, and I think they can get some revenge here. I’ll take the Tigers.
