Coming up Saturday out at the Palestra, we’ve got college basketball Ivy League Tournament action coming between the Yale Bulldogs and the Penn Quakers.
Yale enters this game with a 16-14 record overall. The Bulldogs have won seven of their last eight games, and took out Princeton in OT last Saturday. In that one, Yale guard Miye Oni put up 18 points and nine rebounds.
USA TODAY Sports
Oni is also the top player for the Bulldogs on the year with his 15.5 PPG and 6.1 RPG. Also in double-figures for Yale are Alex Copeland (11.4 PPG) and Blake Reynolds (10.7 PPG; 5.5 RPG).
Over on the Penn side, they’re sitting at 22-8 on the season. The Quakers have won five of their last six outings, and beat Brown on Saturday. In that one, Penn guard Ryan Betley managed 30 points.
Betley is the top scorer on the year for the Quakers with his 14.7 PPG and 5.0 RPG. Also in the double-figures club for Pennsylvania are AJ Brodeur (12.6 PPG; 6.9 RPG), Darnell Foreman (10.4 PPG) and Caleb Wood (10.1 PPG).
The Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the Ivy League. Yale is also 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win and the over is 4-0 in their last four overall.
Meanwhile, Penn is 4-9 ATS in their last 13 following a straight-up win and 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 following an ATS win. The over is 4-0 in the Quakers’ last four Saturday games and 4-1 in their last five overall.
Yale has been on a nice scoring roll lately, as they’ve hit 80 points in each of the last four games. Three of those Bulldogs outings were very close affairs, however. Penn has been equally solid on offense, with at least 74 points in each of their last six games. This should be a fun one to watch, but I like Penn slightly better here.
