Wichita State vs. Houston - 3/10/18 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Wichita State Shockers will be looking to make the conference title game in their first year as a member of the AAC, taking down Temple in their quarterfinal matchup by a final score of 89-81. Landry Shamet led Wichita State with 24 points on 8 of 10 shooting with 6 threes and a team-high 4 assists while Rashard Kelly added 16 points with 7 rebounds and Austin Reaves chipped in 13 points. Shaquille Morris added 10 points with a team-high 8 rebounds and 3 steals to round out the quartet of double digit scorers for the Shockers in the victory. Shamet leads Wichita State with an average of 14.9 points and 5.1 assists per game while Kelly is the Shockers’ leading rebounder with 7.4 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Wichita State is scoring 83.3 points per game on 48% shooting from the field, 38.6% from behind the arc and 73.6% from the foul line this season.

Houston is 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 conference matchups. Wichita State is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 neutral site games while the over is 9-1 in their last 10 games following a win.

I said yesterday in covering the Wichita State game that I feel that the Shockers will make it to the conference championship game, and I still stand by that. However, Houston has the offense to make life difficult for Wichita State, and could make this a game that’s decided late. The deciding factor for me in this one is Wichita State's struggles ATS as of late, so I'll take a shot with Houston and the points here.
