The Line: Canisius Golden Griffins -6 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The CBI college basketball tournament gives us a matchup between the Jacksonville State Gamecocks and the Canisius Golden Griffins.

The Jacksonville State Gamecocks saw their dreams of an NCAA berth go up in smoke in a 70-63 defeat at the hands of the Murray State Racers in the OVC semis. Jacksonville State was outshot 47.1%-43.5% but stayed competitive with eleven more looks at the basket.

Canisius vs. Jacksonville State - 3/14/18 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Christian Cunningham was the top weapon for the Gamecocks with 16 points seven boards and two blocks on 7-10. Jacksonville State received 15 points from Jamall Gregory on 6-10 while Marlon Hunter added 13 points, seven rebounds and three helpers on 6-10.

The Canisius Golden Griffins were one the best teams in the MAAC but were on the outside looking in at the NCAA tournament in a 72-69 quarterfinal loss to Quinnipiac. Both teams sank shots at around 44% with the Bobcats 10-5 edge on threes being the difference.

The Golden Griffins were in this game thanks to Jermaine Crumpton who led all scorers with 22 points and eleven rebounds on 6-10 and 8-16 at the line followed by Isaiah Reese with 13 points and eight boards. Takal Molson gave Canisius ten points and six  boards while Malik Johnson added nine points and seven assiss.

Over is 10-3 in Jacksonville last 13 non-conference games and Jacksonville State are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 Wednesday games and under is 8-3 in Jacksonville State last 11 Wednesday games. Under is 8-0 in Canisius last 8 non-conference games and Canisius are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 home games and Canisius are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 Wednesday games.

Jacksonville State has hung tough with several bigger names so I see no reason why the Gamecocks can’t compete here…
