A CBI college basketball tilt between the Grand Canyon Antelopes and the Mercer Bears comes on Wednesday night.
The red hot Mercer Bears had won eight in a row before cooling off in the SoCon quarterfinals with a 73-53 loss to the Wofford Terriers. Mercer trailed by 16 points after 20 minutes and never challenged with the team getting outshot 49.1%-38.6%.

Jordan Strawberry was the Bears offensive threat with 18 points and five assists on 6-13 and 5-7 at the stripe. Stephon Jelks gave the Bears 16 points and ten rebounds on 5-10 including 3-6 from distance while Desmond Ringer added eleven points and nine boards on 4-8.
The Grand Canyon Antelopes saw their opportunity to go to the NCAA’s evaporate in a 72-58 loss to New Mexico State in the WAC championship. Grand Canyon fell behind by eleven heading to the locker room and couldn’t mount a comeback.
Alessandro Lever was the Antelopes top gun with 20 points before fouling out in 37 minutes. Keonta Vernon gave Grand Canyon 17 points and eight rebounds on 8-11 followed by Casey Benson with 12 points and seven boards on 4-11.
