The North Texas Mean Green take the hardwood versus the South Dakota Coyotes in a first round bout of the CBI college basketball tournament.
The North Texas Mean Green stumbled to the finish line with losses in six of seven before getting bounced from the CUSA playoffs 68-62 by the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. North Texas was outshot 46.7%-42.9% but stayed competitive with eleven more looks at the basket.

The twosome of Roosevelt Smart and Ryan Woolridge led the Mean Green offense with 20 points apiece with a combined nine rebounds followed by AJ Lawson with eleven points and three yanks on 5-11.
The South Dakota Coyotes finished second in the Summit League because of a season ending loss to South Dakota State and then lost to the very same Jackrabbits squad in the conference title game 97-87. The Coyotes were outshot 47.7%-37.8% which negated nine more shot attempts.
Matt Mooney carried the South Dakota attack with 30 points, seven boards and four assists on 9-26 including 3-11 from long range and 9-10 at the line. The Coyotes saw Tyler Hagedorn and Tyler Peterson net 15 points apiece while Trey Burch-Manning and Nick Fuller added nine points each.
