Headed our way Thursday from Taco Bell Arena, the UNC Greensboro Spartans and the Gonzaga Bulldogs will be matching up in NCAA Tournament first-round action.
Gonzaga enters this game with a 30-4 record overall. The Bulldogs are currently sitting on a 14-game winning streak, and took care of BYU in their last outing for the WCC title. In that one, Bulldogs forward Killian Tillie put up 22 points.

Leading the way for Gonzaga on the year is Johnathan Williams with 13.5 PPG and 8.3 RPG, while Tillie has 13.4 PPG. Also in double-figures for the Bulldogs are Josh Perkins (12.4 PPG), Zach Norvell (12.2 PPG) and Rui Hachimura (11.3 PPG).
Over on the UNC Greensboro side, they’re sitting at 27-7 this season. The Spartans have won their last six games, and took out ETSU in the SoCon championship game. In that one, UNCG’s Jordy Kuiper put up 13 points and five rebounds.
Francis Alonso is the leading scorer for UNC Greensboro this year, with 15.6 PPG and 3.0 APG. The only other Spartans player in double-figures on the season is Marvin Smith with 12.3 PPG and 5.4 RPG.
The Spartans are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six non-conference games and 5-2 ATS in the last seven following an ATS win. UNC Greensboro is also 11-5 ATS in their last 16 overall and the under is 5-0 in their last five Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 following an ATS win. Gonzaga is also 1-5 ATS in their last six Thursday games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven NCAA Tournament games.
Gonzaga is one of the hottest teams in the country right now, and they’ve lost just one game in this calendar year. As for UNCG, they’ve had a solid campaign but also have some abnormal road losses. The line isn’t quite thick enough for me to go against Gonzaga here.
