The #16 Penn Quakers hope to shock college basketball with a win versus the #1 Kansas Jayhawks in the Midwest Region.
The Penn Quakers won the Ivy League title with a 68-65 victory versus the Harvard Crimson in a box score that was close throughout. Penn shot the ball well at 46.2% but needed their defense to come up big and it did with the Crimson limited to 41.8%.

Darnell Franklin topped the Quakers with a contest high 19 points and five yanks followed by Ryan Betley with 17 points and four pulls. Penn received 16 points and ten rebounds while Caleb Wood added 12 points and three boards.
The demise of the Kansas Jayhawks will have to wait another year after the team upended the West Virginia Mountaineers 81-70 in the Big 12 championship. Kansas went on a 48-36 second half run to break open a close contest behind a 56.4%-40 edge in marksmanship.
The balanced Jayhawks attack received 20 points and six boards on 6-11 with Devonte’ Graham adding 18 points and 13 rebounds on 7-13. Kansas saw 16 points from Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and Silvio De Sousa with De Sousa hauling in ten rebounds while Lagerald Vick added ten points and five pulls.
I don’t see the Quakers posing any kind of a threat here with Kansas being too big and athletic. I will take the points but I really don ‘t have an interest in backing either squad…
