The NCAA college basketball tournament takes us to the Midwest Region where the #7 Rhode Island Rams face the Oklahoma Sooners.
The Oklahoma Sooners saw their season end in a 71-60 loss to the rival Oklahoma State Sooners where the team never found consistent scoring. Oklahoma fell behind by eleven points at the break with the Cowboys 39.1%-37.9% shooting edge with six more looks at the basket being decisive.

Trae Young was the Sooners go to scorer as he poured in a game high 22 points and five assists on 7-21 including 5-13 from long range. Rashard Odomes gave Oklahoma 12 points on 5-7 while Brady Manek chipped in with nine points.
The #16 Rhode Island Rams won the regular season Atlantic Ten championship before falling 58-57 in the conference title game to the Davidson Wildcats. Both teams sank shots at around 38% with Davidson holding a decisive 14-9 advantage at the stripe.
The Rams fell short in options at the offensive end of the floor with just on player scoring in double figures. EC Matthews kept Rhode Island competitive with 20 points and eight rebounds on 7-16 including 4-8 from distance while Andre Berry and Jeff Dowtin combining for 17 points.
There is no doubt Oklahoma played a rugged schedule with a packed Big 12 schedule to deal with. We did not see the real Rhode Island in the conference championship game and hopefully that is different here…
