The San Diego State Aztecs take the hardwood in a Thursday NCAA college basketball tournament bout on Thursday.
The Houston Cougars dropped a 56-55 decision to the Cincinnati Bearcats in the championship of the AAC tourney. This game was tight throughout and wasn’t decided until the final seconds on a Houston turnover. Neither team shot the ball well with Cincinnati’s 43.5%-34.5% shooting edge negating the Cougars nine more looks.

Houston received 17 points and five yanks from Rob Gray on 6-22 including 2-9 from distance. Corey Davis Jr. gave the Cougars 15 points and three assists on 5-11 with a 5-10 effort from beyond the arc while Devin Davis added 13 points and five helpers on 6-11.
The San Diego State Aztecs enter the NCAA tournament as the MWC champions following an 82-75 win versus New Mexico in the league title game. San Diego State sank half their looks with a 21-15 edge at the stripe being the difference.
Trey Kell carried the Aztecs offense as he led all scorers with 28 points on 10-16. Malik Pope gave San Diego State 16 points and five pulls on 5-8 and a 6-8 effort at the charity stripe followed by Devin Watson with 12 points and five helpers 5-11.
Houston was outstanding in 2017-18 but San Diego State was sizzling hot with the momentum of nine straight victories to lean on and I think they are worth a look…
