In NCAA Tournament action from the East Region on Friday, we’ve got a matchup between the Cal State Fullerton Titans and the Purdue Boilermakers from Little Caesars Arena.

CS Fullerton enters this one with a 20-11 record overall. The Titans have won their last three games, all tourney wins. In the Saturday victory over UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton’s leading scorer was Kyle Allman with 26 points.

Allman is also the lead scorer for the Titans on the year with 19.4 PPG and 3.4 RPG. Also in double-figures for Cal State Fullerton are Khalil Ahmad (15.3 PPG) and Jackson Rowe (12.2 PPG; 6.8 RPG).

Over on the Purdue side, they’re sitting at 28-6 on the year. The Boilermakers had a five-game win streak going until they met Michigan back on March 4. In that one, Purdue’s Isaac Haas had 23 points.

Carsen Edwards is the top Purdue scorer on the year with 18.5 PPG, while Haas has 14.9 PPG and 5.6 RPG. Also in double-figures for the Boilermakers are Vincent Edwards (14.5 PPG; 7.3 RPG) and Dakota Mathias (12.4 PPG).

The Titans are 4-0 ATS in their last four non-conference games and 5-1 ATS in their last six overall. Cal St. Fullerton is also 4-1-1 ATS in their last six neutral-site games and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 Friday games.

Meanwhile, the Boilermakers are 26-10 ATS in their last 36 non-conference games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight neutral-site games. Purdue is also 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 following an ATS loss and 1-11-1 ATS in their last 13 overall.

The spread on this game is one of the biggest of the first round, as not too many people are thinking the Titans can keep up here. To be honest, I haven’t been all that impressed with Purdue lately, as they’ve been drilling crummy teams and hitting the wall against the better squads. I think the Titans can easily get in here and cover.
