The high scoring Mastodons have a huge void to fill with leading scorer Bryson Scott gone and taking over 22 points with him. The cupboard is not bare with John Konchar and Kason Harrell averaging 14.8 points and 13.5 points respectively with Konchar hauling n 8.1 rebounds.
JUCO transfer Dee Montgomery will start immediately at guard and Northern Arizona transfer Marcus DeBerry cracked double digits in scoring for the Lumberjacks two years ago so the lineup has potential.
The UCLA Bruins were 4th in the PAC-12 standings at 21-12 a season ago. UCLA was potent offensively at 81.2 points scored and 76 allowed.
The Bruins lose leading scorer Aaron Holiday and his 20 points along with center Thomas Welsh who was third in scoring at 12.6 points and led the team with 10.8 rebounds.
Forward Kris Wilkes does give the Bruins scoring and rebounding and is now the leader in both categories after averaging 13.7 points and 4.9 boards a year ago.
Guards Jaylen Hands and Prince Ali are pegged to be in the Bruins starting rotation with both averaging 9+ points and combining for seven boards.
Steve Alford has had great recruiting success and UCLA will have no shortage of talent but some of those faces will be young and inexperienced.
Purdue Fort Wayne are 6-23 ATS in their last 29 road games and under is 7-2 in Purdue Fort Wayne last 9 Tuesday games and over is 9-4 in Purdue Fort Wayne last 13 road games. UCLA are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Tuesday games.
Both teams lost talent and the Mastodons lost more but thei identity is scoring and we see that here…
