The Eastern Washington Eagles and the Oregon Ducks meet in college basketball action from Matthew Knight Arena on Friday night.
The Eastern Washington Eagles will look to bounce back after a disappointing start to their season, falling to Syracuse by a final score of 66-34. Tyler Kidd led the Eagles with 9 points coming on 3 threes in 16 minutes off of the bench, while Jesse Hunt added a team-high 7 rebounds and Luka Vulikic led EWU with 4 assists to go along with 6 rebounds. Eastern Washington just couldn’t get anything going as the Eagles scored just 10 points at the half and shot 13 of 59 in the game. As a team, Eastern Washington is averaging 34 points per game on 22% shooting from the field, 17.1% from behind the arc and 25% from the foul line this season.

The Oregon Ducks will be looking to build on a solid opening performance, taking their season opener against Portland State by a final score of 84-57. Payton Pritchard led the Ducks with 22 points on 6 of 7 shooting to go along with a perfect 9 of 9 mark from the foul line. Paul White added 15 points while Bol Bol added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks for the double-double. Francis Okoro added 10 points and 6 rebounds to round out Oregon’s scoring in double figures in the winning effort. As a team, Oregon is averaging 84 points per game on 54% from the field, 57.1% from behind the arc and 78.8% from the foul line this season.
Eastern Washington is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a loss and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against the Pac-12 while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 Friday games. Oregon is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 home games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a win while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall.
Eastern Washington has had a lot of success ATS after a loss, but there’s no way that I can back the Eagles after how they performed in their opener, as you can tell they were really missing Bogdan Bliznyuk from this year’s team. Now, the Eagles have to go to Eugene where the Oregon Ducks have been solid ATS dating back to last season. Based on what we saw in each team’s opener, I see no choice but to lay the points with Oregon here.
