The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks and the Bradley Braves will match up on the college basketball court Saturday from Carver Arena.
SEMO comes into this season following a 14-17 mark last year and an 8-10 record in the OVC. The Redhawks were not eligible for postseason play thanks to APR violations, however.

In their first action this year, the Redhawks put up a 75-65 loss to Saint Louis. Leading the way in scoring for SEMO in that one was Ledarrius Brewer with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Alex Caldwell put up 14 points and four assists.
Over on the Bradley side, they managed to go 20-13 last season and 9-9 in MVC play. In the MVC Tournament, Bradley took out Drake in the first round before falling to Loyola-Chicago in the quarters.
Bradley took out Wisconsin-Parkside in their first game of the year 74-58. Tops in scoring in that game was Koch Bar with 19 points and seven rebounds. Elijah Childs added 17 points and eight rebounds of his own for the Braves.
The Redhawks are 5-2 ATS in their last seven non-conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last five following a straight-up loss. SEMO is 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games and the under is 4-0 in their last versus the MVC.
Meanwhile, the Braves are 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the OVC and 20-4-2 ATS in their last 26 home games. Bradley is 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four Saturday games.
Southeast Missouri State’s 10-point loss could have been quite a bit worse, as they were losing 40-24 at halftime and were never really a threat to win the game. The Redhawks need to develop some secondary scoring and additional bench contributions if they want to compete this year.
As for Bradley, they took care of business in their first action of the year, and got some solid minutes for most of their roster. I don’t see the Braves having much trouble here so I’ll take them to cover.
