The Wright State Raiders and the Murray State Racers will battle it out on the college basketball court from CFSB Center on Saturday.
Wright State enters this season following a 25-10 mark last year, going 14-4 in Horizon League play. The Raiders rolled through the Horizon League Tournament to take the championship, but fell in the NCAA Tournament to Tennessee in the First Round.

In the Raiders’ first game this year, they took out Western Carolina 96-73. Leading the way for the Raiders in that one was Billy Wampler with 26 points, while Loudon Love added 17 points and seven rebounds.
Over on the Murray State side, they’re fresh off a 26-6 mark last year, with a 16-2 record in OVC play. After winning the OVC Tournament and getting a bid to the Big Dance, the Racers’ season ended with a First-Round loss to West Virginia.
Murray State comes into this season with a relatively young team, as Brion Sanchious, Leroy Buchanan and Anthony Smith are the only seniors on the roster.
The Raiders are 13-2 ATS in their last 15 versus the OVC and 5-1 ATS in their last six overall. The under is 6-0-1 in Wright State’s last seven versus the OVC.
Meanwhile, the Racers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 Saturday games. The under is 4-0 in Murray State’s last four home games and 5-0 in their last five Saturday games.
Wright State didn’t have too much trouble with the Catamounts in their opener, and they were up 52-26 at halftime to enable the team to cruise the rest of the way. It was a nicely balanced effort, with four players in double-figures.
As for the Racers, I’m not sure they’ll come out firing until they get their underclassmen up to speed, so I’m going to pull back on them a little bit.
I’ll take the Raiders for the cover here.
