The North Carolina Tar Heels will also look to remain unbeaten after improving to 2-0 this year thanks to a 116-67 rout of Elon in their last outing. Cameron Johnson and Nassir Little tied for the team lead with 21 points, with Johnson shooting 7 of 11 while Little went 9 of 13, each hitting a pair of threes. Coby White added 14 points and Sterling Manley added 11 points and 8 rebound to round out the scoring in double figures for UNC in the win. Seventh Woods and Rechon Black each had a team-high 5 assists while Luke Maye added 8 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Johnson leads the Tar Heels in scoring with 19 points per game while Maye leads UNC in rebounding with 8.5 boards and Woods leads North Carolina in assists with 4 assists per game this season. As a team, North Carolina is averaging 97 points per game on 50.7% shooting from the field, 34.8% from behind the 3-point line and 71.4% from the foul line this season.
Stanford is 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a winning record and 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games against the ACC while the under is 18-7-1 in their last 26 non-conference games. North Carolina is 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games against the Pac-12 and 35-16-2 ATS in their last 53 home games while the under is 7-2 in their last 9 games overall.
Stanford has done well dating back to last season when it comes to taking a step up in competition, but I still have my question marks about this Cardinal team, and I’m not sure going on the road to Chapel Hill will help matters. Stanford’s had no success lately against the ACC, while North Carolina has done extremely well against the Pac-12. I expected this line to be a bit lighter, but given how they’ve looked to start the year, I don’t see any reason why UNC wouldn’t cover this line as well, so I’ll lay the points with North Carolina in this spot.
