The Loyola (IL) Ramblers will be looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season, coming in the form of a 60-58 loss to Furman in their last outing to drop to 1-1 this season. Clayton Custer led the Ramblers with 19 points on 8 of 14 shooting while Lucas Williamson added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double. Marques Townes added 10 points with 3 steals to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for the Ramblers in the losing effort. Custer is averaging a team-high 14 points per game while Townes leads the Ramblers with 3.5 assists per game and Williamson is averaging a team-high 10 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Loyola (IL) is averaging 67 points on 45.8% shooting from the field, 26.2% from behind the arc and 54.3% from the foul line through their first two games of the season.
Niagara is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Wednesday games while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games following a win. Loyola (IL) is 10-4 ATS in their last 14 non-conference games and 35-17-1 ATS in their last 53 games overall while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 home games.
Niagara had a solid showing in their opener, but Loyola is definitely due for a bounce-back performance here given the experience and the depth that the Ramblers from top to bottom in their lineup. However, I think that this is simply a case of too many points. The Ramblers have an advantage and it’s hard to go off of what we saw in just one game from Niagara, but I’m not sure Loyola deserves to be this heavy of a favorite this early on, so I’ll take the points with Niagara.
