The Central Michigan Chippewas and the Weber State Wildcats will meet up Friday in college basketball action from the Junkanoo Jam.
Central Michigan enters this one at 3-0 so far on the year. The Chippewas dispatched Concordia 98-67 in their opener, then took care of Chicago State 101-60. In game three, Central Michigan posted a 67-55 win over CSUB Thursday to move on.

In the Thursday game, the Chippewas’ leading scorer was Shawn Roundtree, with 16 points. David DiLeo also had a nice outing on 15 points and nine rebounds, while Larry Austin provided 14 points and eight boards.
Over on the Weber State side, they’re 2-1 on the year. The Wildcats posted a loss to San Diego in the opener 83-66 but then blew out Bethesda 123-53 in game two. Weber State then managed an 85-77 win over San Jose State Thursday.
In the Thursday game, Weber State’s lead scorer was Jerrick Harding, who went off for 31 points and eight rebounds. Cody John was the only other Wildcat in double-figures with 16 points and five boards.
The Chippewas are 5-1 ATS in their last six Friday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Central Michigan is 4-1 ATS in their last five neutral-site games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Sky.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 2-5 ATS in their last seven neutral-site games and 6-13 ATS in their last 19 Friday games. Weber State is 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six non-conference games.
Central Michigan is rolling along quite nicely, and their roster is coming along and forming into a cohesive, well-rounded unit. Still, they’re underachieving as a squad.
As for the Wildcats, they’re looking better since the dud in the opener but remain top-heavy and need some more contributions from their bench. The lift from Harding should help, though.
I’m likely going to take Central Michigan here, but it should be a nice matchup and a fun one to watch.
