Over on the North Carolina side, they’re currently 3-0 following an opening win against Wofford 78-67 and a 116-67 beatdown of Elon in their second game. The Tar Heels continued against Stanford with a 90-72 victory.
In the Cardinal game, North Carolina’s lead scorer was Cameron Johnson with 17 points and seven rebounds, followed by Luke Maye with 16 points and eight rebounds. Kenny Williams and Garrison brooks were also in double-digits with 12 points apiece.
The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 overall. Tennessee Tech is 7-15-1 ATS in their last 23 Friday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight non-conference games.
Meanwhile, North Carolina is 6-2 ATS in their last eight Friday games and 35-16-3 ATS in their last 54 home games. The under is 4-1 in the Heels’ last five Friday games and 7-3 in their last 10 overall.
Tennessee Tech does have some pretty good playmakers on their roster, and they’re scoring reasonably well over the past game or two, but they’re also giving up way too much on the other side.
As for NC, well, they’re NC. They’re good. The Tar Heels are deep and well-rounded; they should do some damage this year.
All things considered, I think the Eagles have enough scoring to get in and cover here.
