FIU led by a 69-64 margin with under 4 minutes left in regulation, however, the Golden Panthers struggled on both ends trying to close out the game and allowed Fordham to secure the come from behind victory after they finished the game on a 18-8 run. FIU shot just 39.7% from the field and 14.3% from beyond the arc in the loss. The Golden Panthers were outrebounded by a 40-30 margin however, did win the turnover battle by a 16-11 margin. Offensively, FIU has been led by Devon Andrews (19.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.3 spg), Brian Beard Jr. (18.8 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 7.5 apg, 4.0 spg), Marcus Burwell (11.3 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.3 spg), and Willy Nunez Jr. (10.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.0 spg). The Penguins are 3-14 ATS in their last 17 non-conference games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Golden Panthers are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 Sunday games however, just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games vs. Horizon League opponents.

Youngstown State has picked up a couple of wins but this going to be a team that once against struggles defensively this season as they already rank just 319th in scoring defense and 310th in defensive FG%. Florida International’s offensive numbers are a little inflated from some easy victories over non D-1 schools to start the season however, this is still a team that as solid offensive backcourt led by Beard Jr. and has gotten some nice production from JC transfer Devon Andrews. FIU does a great job in creating turnovers, which they should get plenty of agianst the Youngstown State offense, and as the Golden Panthers should be able to put up plenty up points on the offensive end, I’m taking FIU to cover this spread.
