Nevada vs. UMass - 11/23/18 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The UMass Minutemen punched their ticket to the final with an 84-62 win over Southern Illinois in their last outing. Rashaan Holloway led the Minutemen with 16 points on 7 of 7 shooting while Luwane Pipkins added 15 points with 5 threes and a team-high 6 assists. Carl Pierre added 4 threes as part of his 14-point outing while Curtis Cobb added 11 points to round out the quartet of double-digit scorers for the Minutemen in the winning effort. Jonathan Laurent chipped in 9 points and a team-high 8 rebounds as well in the win. Pipkins leads the Minutemen with an average of 17.8 points and 6.7 assists per game while Holloway leads the Minutemen in rebounding with 6.3 rebounds per game this season. As a team, UMass is scoring 82.8 points per game on 49.2% shooting from the field, 37.2% from behind the arc and 69% from the foul line this season.

Nevada is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against the A-10 and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 non-conference games. UMass is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a game where they covered the spread and 1-4 ATS in their alst 5 Friday games while the over is 20-6 in their last 26 games overall.

Nevada is definitely the most talented team in the tournament in my opinion, and the Wolf PAck are also the most experienced. However, if we're being honest, I definitely thought this line would be lighter. Tulsa was able to hang around with the Wolf Pack and eventually bag a cover in the end, and while UMass isn't the biggest team out there, the Minutemen can put points o the board when they want to so I'll side with UMass as I just think this is too many points.
