The Wisconsin Badgers and the Iowa Hawkeyes meet in Big Ten conference college basketball action from Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Friday night.

The Wisconsin Badgers will look for a big road win to build on their 6-1 start to the year after a 79-75 win over NC State in their last outing. Ethan Happ led the Badgers with 19 points on 8 of 18 shooting with 11 rebounds and 4 blocks for the double-double while D’Mitrik Trice added 18 points on 6 of 10 shooting with 4 threes, 6 assists and 3 steals. Brad Davison and Aleem Ford each added 12 points with Ford adding 4 threes to finish off the quartet of double-digit scorers for Wisconsin in the winning effort. Happ leads the Badgers by averaging a double-double per game with averages of 18 points, 12.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game this season. As a team, Wisconsin is averaging 74.7 points per game on 47.9% shooting from the field, 43.8% from behind the 3-point line and 72.6% from the foul line this season.

The Iowa Hawkeyes will look for a big win to start conference play and to remain undefeated after improving to 6-0 with a 69-68 win over Pitt in their last outing. Joe Wieskamp led Iowa with 18 points on 7 of 13 shooting with 4 threes and 11 rebounds for the double-double, while Nicholas Baer added 16 points on 4 of 7 shooting with 3 threes and 5 rebounds. Jordan Bohannon added 12 points on 4 of 12 shooting with 3 triples and a whopping 6 steals to finish off the trio of double-digit scorers for Iowa in the winning effort. Tyler Cook added 9 points and 8 rebounds while Connor McCaffery added a team-high 4 assists as well in the victory. Cook leads the Hawkeyes with an average of 14.8 points and 7 rebounds per game while McCaffery leads Iowa with 3.8 assists per game this season. As a team, Iowa is averaging 85.3 points per game on 46.7% shooting from the field, 34.1% from behind the arc and 77.6% from the foul line this season.

Wisconsin is 8-0 ATS in their last 8 road games and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 conference games while the over is 10-3 in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record. Iowa is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 Friday games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games against a team with a winning road record while the over is 18-7-1 in their last 26 games overall. The road team is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings between these two teams.

Both of these teams are coming off of close calls in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, and Iowa is a good team at home, so it’s a little bit surprising to see such a tight line. However, going on the road hasn’t been much of an issue for Wisconsin dating back to last season, where the Badgers have been money, and home court doesn’t really mean much for the Hawkeyes, considering that Iowa is 0-4 ATS at home this season and that the road team has covered in 6 of the last 8 meetings between these two teams. I’ll take the free point with Wisconsin here.
