The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Minnesota Golden Gophers will meet up on the college basketball court Wednesday.

Nebraska waltzes into this one at 7-1 on the season. The Huskers’ lone loss came courtesy of Texas Tech but otherwise they’ve beaten MS Valley, SE LA, Seton Hall, Missouri State, Western IL, Clemson and Illinois.

In the Illini matchup, Nebraska’s James Palmer led the team on 23 points with four assists and three rebounds. Isaac Copeland added 16 points and five rebounds for the Cornhuskers and Glynn Watson had 14 points, three assists and six boards.

Over on the Gophers’ side, they’re 6-2 this year. Minnesota has beaten Omaha, Utah, Texas A&M, Santa Clara, Washington and OK State but dropped to Boston College and Ohio State.

In the Buckeyes game, Minnesota’s Amir Coffey led the way on 19 points with three rebounds, and the only other Gopher in double-figures was Dupree McBrayer with 13 points, two assists and two rebounds.

The Cornhuskers are 24-5-1 ATS in their last 30 overall and 18-4 ATS in their last 22 after an ATS win. Nebraska is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games.

Meanwhile, the Gophers are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 9-22 ATS in their last 31 overall. Minnesota is 5-16 in their last 21 versus the Big Ten and 4-12 ATS in their last 16 following a straight-up loss.

Nebraska hasn’t exactly faced primo competition for the most part in the early-going, but aside from falling 70-52 to Texas Tech and barely squeaking by Clemson, the Cornhuskers have done their jobs and rolled right through the schedule.

Minnesota might not go away so easily however, as they’ve put up a few notable offensive performances so far. I’m going to go with the Gophers here to sneak in and cover.
