The Michigan State Spartans and the Florida Gators will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.

Michigan State comes into this game at 7-2 overall. Aside from losses to Kansas and Louisville, the Spartans have rolled past FGCU, LA-Monroe, TN Tech, UCLA, Texas, Rutgers and Iowa this year.

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

In the Hawkeyes game, Michigan State’s Nick Ward led the way with 26 points and nine rebounds, while Kenny Goins doubled up on 19 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. Cassius Winston added eight points and 12 assists for the Spartans in the 90-68 blowout.

Over on the Florida side, they’re 5-3 this year. The Gators have fallen to Florida State, Oklahoma and Butler this year but beaten Charleston Southern, La Salle, Stanford, North Florida and West Virginia.

In the Mountaineers game, the Gators were led by KeVaughn Allen’s 19 points, three assists and four rebounds. Allen was the only Florida player in double-figures but Keith Stone had a solid game on nine points and eight rebounds.

The Spartans are 5-1 ATS in their last six overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five following a straight-up win. Michigan State is 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 road games and 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Gators are 1-4 ATS in their last five following an ATS win and 1-5 ATS in their last six following a straight-up win. The under is 4-1 in Florida’s last five overall and 4-1 in their last five non-conference games.

Michigan State bounced back nicely from that loss to Louisville with an 11-point win over Rutgers and a 22-point beatdown of Iowa, so they’re right back on track.

As for Florida, they’ve had a few solid offensive performances this year but on the whole simply aren’t getting it done on the scoreboard. I have to go with the Spartans here.
