Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

On the season, Wichita State is averaging 74.7 ppg on 43.0% shooting from the field. The Shockers are averaging 8.4 three-pointers per game on 33.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Wichita State has been led by Markis McDuffie (19.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.1 spg), Samajae Haynes-Jones (13.1 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.0 apg), Erik Stevenson (10.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.4 spg), and Dexter Dennis (8.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.1 apg).

Defensively, Wichita State is allowing their opponents to average 71.1 ppg on 42.7% shooting from the field. The Shockers have a rebound margin of 1.6 and a turnover margin of 2.6.

The Oklahoma Sooners won their 3rd straight game and improved to 7-1 on the season after defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 85-80, this past Tuesday. Oklahoma was on fire from beyond the arc and was able to hold off a late Notre Dame charge after taking a 74-67 lad with 6:02 left in regulation. Oklahoma shot 47.1% from the field and 51.7% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Sooners was Christian James who had 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists.

On the season, Oklahoma is averaging 74.9 ppg on 45.9% shooting from the field. The Sooners are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game on 39.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Oklahoma has been led by Christian James (19.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.3 apg), Brady Manek (9.9 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 1.3 apg), Jamuni McNeace (9.9 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.1 bpg), and Aaron Calixte (9.4 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.9 apg).

Defensively, Oklahoma is holding their opponents to an average of 67.0 ppg on 37.8% shooting from the field. The Sooners have a rebound margin of 3.5 and a turnover margin of -1.0.

The Shockers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games and 25-8 ATS in their last 33 road games following three or more consecutive home games. The Sooners are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games.

Wichita State is a decent team, but there is no denying that this Shockers team is nowhere near as solid as what we’ve seen in the past few years from the Shockers. The Shockers rank middle of the pack in both scoring offense & defense so far this season and I think their game against Baylor showed what the highs & lows of what this Shockers team can be this season. Oklahoma has been impressive so far this season as they look like a completely different team this season as they have a bunch of depth and contributors to go along with Christian James who had taken on a much bigger role this season. Oklahoma looked great from beyond the arc against Notre Dame and as I think their defense will give the Shockers some trouble in this one, I think Oklahoma does enough to cover this home spread.
