Akron fought back from a 19-point 2nd half deficit to take a late 63-62 lead however, couldn’t secure the come from behind victory as the Zips struggled offensively down the stretch scoring just two points over the final 2:43 of regulation. Marshall has one of the best one-two punches in the C-USA in Jon Elmore & C.J. Burks however, the Thundering Herd can’t afford either player to have an off night as they currently have a defense that ranks 314th in scoring defense & 341st in rebound margin. Akron is a very a solid defensive team that ranks 16th in scoring defense and although their offense heavily relies on the three-pointer, this is a very solid team that even gave Clemson all they could handle in a 72-69 loss. Marshall is just 1-3 on the road this season and as I think the Zips defense will contain Elmore & Burks, I think the Zips offense does enough agianst the Marshall defense to cover this small home spread.
