The Wichita State Shockers and the Memphis Tigers meet in AAC conference college basketball action from the FedEx Forum on Thursday night.

The Wichita State Shockers will look to rebound after suffering a 70-54 loss to VCU in their last outing. Markis McDuffie led the Shockers with 16 points on 5 of 15 shooting with 3 threes while Jamarius Burton added 12 points and a team-high 8 rebounds and Samajae Haynes-Jones added 10 points to finish off the trio of double-digit scorers for Wichita State in the losing effort. McDuffie leads the Shockers in scoring with 18.8 points per game while Haynes-Jones leads Wichita State in assists with 3.1 assists per game and Jaime Echenique leads the Shockers on the glass with 6.1 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Wichita State is averaging 70.1 points per game on 40.6% shooting from the field, 31% from behind the arc and 65.6% from the foul line this season.

The Memphis Tigers will look to build on their 3-game winning streak after winning 5 of their last 6 games with a 96-65 win over Florida A&M in their last outing. Jeremiah Martin led Memphis with 22 points on 7 of 10 shooting with 4 threes and a team-high 8 assists. Wichita State is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall. Memphis is 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games while the over is 10-3 in their last 13 conference games.

Wichita State won the lone meeting between these two in conference play by 20 points last season, but it’s safe to say that the Shockers are not the same team from last season and in all fairness, neither are the Tigers, but at least Memphis is trending in the right direction. The Shockers have struggled on the road this season, losing both of their true road games by a combined total of 48 points so with that said, I’ll lay the points with Memphis here.
