The Line: Baylor Bears -14.5 -- Over/Under: 124.5

The Kansas State Wildcats and the Baylor Bears meet in Big 12 conference college basketball action from the Ferrell Center on Tuesday night.

The Kansas State Wildcats will look for a huge road win to get out of the Big 12 basement, sitting at 2-12 in conference play after a seven-game losing streak following their 70-59 defeat at the hands of Texas last time out. Xavier Sneed leads K-State in scoring with 14.3 PPG with 4.7 RPG while Cartier Diarra is 2nd in scoring and tops in assists with 12.9 PPG and 4.4 APG this season. Makol Mawien also added 7.5 PPG and a team-high 5.4 RPG for K-State this season. As a team, Kansas State is averaging 64.3 points on 41.2% shooting from the field, 31.6% from 3-point range and 64.4% from the foul line while allowing 64.9 points on 42.9% shooting from the field, 42.9% from the field and 33.4% from 3-point range this season. Kansas State is 1-8 straight up and 5-4 against the spread on the road this season.

The Baylor Bears will look to maintain top spot in the Big 12 standings, sitting at 13-1 in conference play off of their first loss of conference play, coming in the form of a 64-61 loss to Kansas last time out, snapping a 23-game winning streak. Jared Butler leads Baylor in scoring with 15.7 PPG while MaCio Teague is 2nd in scoring with 14.2 PPG and Davion Mitchell has 9.7 PPG and a team-high 3.6 APG this season. Freddie Gillespie also has 9.6 PPG and 8.7 RPG this season. As a team, Baylor is averaging 70.8 points on 43% shooting from the field, 35% from 3-point range and 69% from the foul line while allowing 58.4 points on 38.6% shooting from the field and 30.1% from 3-point range this season. Baylor is 12-1 straight up and 6-7 against the spread at home this season.

Head-to-head, the underdog is 22-8-2 ATS in the last 32 meetings between these two teams and the road team is 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

I’ve gone back and forth on this game, as this is a lot of points to give up with a Baylor team that might not be all that motivated after having to play Kansas last time out. However, the Bears can ill afford another slip up not that they’re tied with Kansas for the top spot in the Big 12. I just don’t think that Kansas State has what it takes offensively to handle the storm that Baylor is going to bring for this game, so I’ll lay the points with the Bears even if the line is thick.

Chris’s Pick Baylor -14.5
