The Line: Texas A&M Aggies +7 -- Over/Under: 128
The Kentucky Wildcats and the Texas A&M Aggies meet in SEC college basketball action from the Reed Arena on Tuesday night.
The Kentucky Wildcats will try to keep pace at the top of the SEC standings, sitting at 12-2 in conference play after a 6th straight win in the form of a 65-59 win over Florida last time out. Immanuel Quickley leads Kentucky in scoring in scoring with 15.7 PPG while Nick Richards is 2nd in scoring with 14.3 PPG and a team-high 8 RPG this season. Tyrese Maxey has 13.9 PPG while Ashton Hagans has 11.8 PPG and a team-high 6.5 APG this season. As a team, Kentucky is averaging 74.9 points on 46.1% shooting from the field, 32.7% from 3-point range and 79.1% from the foul line while allowing 65.6 points on 38.7% shooting from the field and 29.6% from 3-point range this season. Kentucky is 6-2 straight up and 6-2 against the spread on the road this season.
The Texas A&M Aggies will try to escape a logjam in the middle of the SEC, sitting at 8-6 in conference play after a 3rd straight win in the form of an 87-75 win over Mississippi State last time out. Josh Nebo leads the Aggies in scoring with 11.9 PPG as well as 6.2 RPG while Savion Flagg has 10 PPG and a team-high 2.5 APG. Emanuel Miller leads Texas A&M in rebounding with 6.5 RPG this season. As a team, Texas A&M is averaging 62.7 points on 39.8% shooting from the field, 27.6% from 3-point range and 69.1% from the foul line while allowing 64.5 points on 40.4% shooting from the field and 31.7% shooting from 3-point range. Texas A&M is 10-5 straight up and 6-9 against the spread at home this season.
Texas A&M getting points at home is tempting considering how well the defense has played for the Aggies this season. However, while the lines for Kentucky are starting to get bigger, the Aggies continue to have issues putting points on the board, and even at home, that’s bad news for A&M against a Kentucky team that can bury you in a hurry on the scoreboard. I just don’t think that Texas A&M can keep pace with that the Wildcats bring to the table, so I’ll lay the points with Kentucky on the road here.
