The Line: UNC Greensboro Spartans -3.5 -- Over/Under: 134
The Furman Paladins and the UNC Greensboro Spartans meet in college basketball action from Greensboro Coliseum on Wednesday.
Furman comes into this one at 23-6 on the year. After a recent seven-game winning streak came to an end versus East Tennessee State, Furman got a win over Wofford their last time out.
In the win over the Terriers, Furman’s lead scorer was Noah Gurley with 22 points, seven rebounds and one assist. Mike Bothwell added 18 points with three assists and two rebounds, and Jordan Lyons put up 10 points with three rebounds for Furman there.
Over on the UNC Greensboro side, they’re 23-6 this year. Over the last six games, UNCG is undefeated with victories over the Citadel, Samford, Western Carolina, Mercer, Wofford and VMI.
In the win over the Keydets, UNC Greensboro’s Isaiah Miller led the team with 23 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Angel Allegri added 11 points there, and Kyrin Galloway doubled up on 10 points, 10 rebounds and one assist for UNCG.
UNC Greensboro is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five home games and 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS loss. The over is 5-2 in UNC Greensboro’s last seven overall and 9-4 in their last 13 versus a team with a winning straight-up record.
Meanwhile, Furman is 15-6 ATS in their last 21 road games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight versus a team with a winning straight-up record. The over is 5-2 in Furman’s last seven road games and 7-1 in the last eight Wednesday games.
Furman had some really solid output during their winning streak with 74 points or more in each of the first six games. Since then they’ve fallen off on the scoreboard however, with 67 points or fewer in each of their last three games. That’s something to think about considering UNCG scored 86 the last time these teams met up.
Considering that, and considering how well UNC Greensboro has been playing lately, I’m going to stick that way here. I’ll take UNCG.
