The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and the Little Rock Trojans meet in college basketball action from Jack Stephens Center on Thursday.
UL-Monroe enters this one at 9-18 so far. Louisiana-Monroe is 3-1 in the last four games, falling to South Alabama while otherwise taking out Troy, Arkansas State and Louisiana.
In the win over Louisiana, UL-Monroe’s lead scorer was Michael Ertel with 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Tyree White added 18 points, six rebounds and three assists there, and Chris Efretuei put up 15 points with eight rebounds and one assist.
Over on the Little Rock side, they’re 19-9 on the year. After recently losing consecutive games versus Appalachian State and Arkansas State, Little Rock got a win their last time out in the rematch versus Arkansas State.
In the win over AR State, Little Rock’s Kamani Johnson led the team with 32 points and 16 rebounds. Also in double-figures for Little Rock there was Markquis Nowell with 19 points, six assists and three rebounds.
Little Rock is 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 home games and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 after a straight-up win. Little Rock is 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall and the over is 5-1 in their last six Thursday games.
Meanwhile, LA-Monroe is 34-16-2 ATS in their last 52 Thursday games and 4-0 ATS in their last four overall. The under is 52-21 in ULM’s last 73 road games and they’re 0-4 ATS in their last four versus a team with a winning percentage above .600 as well.
LA-Monroe has been pretty impressive over their last four games, all things considered. Sure, they put up just 49 points versus South Alabama, but only lost by one point. The Warhawks put up a solid 83 points versus Louisiana in their last outing as well.
As for Little Rock, they had a bit of a scoring lull in the TX-Arlington game, but bounced back well with 81 their last time out so I’m not worried about them. I’m going Little Rock.
