The Line: Murray State Racers -11.5 -- Over/Under: 150
The Eastern Kentucky Colonels and the Murray State Racers meet in college basketball action from CFSB Center on Thursday.
Eastern Kentucky comes into this one at 14-15 on the year. EKU is 2-3 in the last five games, beating Morehead State and Tennessee State while falling to SIUE, Austin Peay and Belmont otherwise.
In the loss to Belmont, Eastern Kentucky’s Lachlan Anderson topped the tea on 15 points, four rebounds and one assist. Both Ty Taylor and Jacques Hobbs added 11 points there, and Michael Moreno doubled up on 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
Over on the Murray State side, they’re 20-8 so far. In the last four games, Murray State is 2-2, falling to Austin Peay and Eastern Illinois while beating Morehead State and SIU-Edwardsville otherwise.
In the win over SIUE, Murray State’s top scorer was Jaiveon Eaves with 21 points, two assists and two rebounds. Tevin Brown was the only other player on the team in double-digits there with 10 points, three assists and four rebounds.
Murray State is 0-3-1 ATS in the last four Thursday games and 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. Murray State is 8-1 ATS in their last nine home games and the under is 8-1 in their last nine overall.
Meanwhile, Eastern Kentucky is 5-0 ATS in their last five Thursday games and 6-0 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss. EKU is 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 overall.
Here’s the good news about Eastern Kentucky: they’ve scored at least 70 points in each of their last 11 games. Here’s the bad news about Eastern Kentucky: they’ve given up at least 71 points in five of their last six games.
As for Murray State, they’ve been at 68 or below in points scored in three of their last four games, so they’ve been pretty choppy as well. This is a tough one to call so I’m probably staying away in reality but I like Murray State to break out here and manage a cover.
