The Montana Grizzlies and the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks meet in college basketball action from Walkup Skydome on Thursday.
Montana enters this game at 17-10 on the year. Over the last six games, Montana is undefeated and has taken out Montana State, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Weber State, Idaho State and Montana State again.
In the win over Montana State, Montana’s top scorer was Kendal Manuel with 19 points, two rebounds and one assist. Sayeed Pridgett added 15 points, seven rebounds and two assists there, and Jared Samuelson had 10 points with seven rebounds.
Over on the Northern Arizona side, they’re 15-11 this year. After winning consecutive games over Southern Utah and Idaho, Northern Arizona lost by 10 in their last game versus Eastern Washington.
In the loss to Eastern WA, Northern Arizona’s top scorer was Cameron Shelton on 20 points, seven assists and three rebounds. Bernie Andre added 17 points and nine rebounds there, and Brooks DeBisschop had 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
Northern Arizona is 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. Northern Arizona is 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall and the over is 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, Montana is 6-0 ATS in their last six overall and 5-0 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. Montana is 5-0 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win and the over is 7-2 in their last nine overall.
Well, Montana’s win over Montana State wasn’t pretty (59-54) but it was a solid road win against a rival and will keep the Grizzlies feeling good coming into this one. Prior to that game, Montana had been over 70 points in eight straight games.
As for Northern Arizona, they stumbled in the Northern CO game (54 points) but otherwise have put up 78 or more in three games since then. This should be another fairly close matchup, and I like the Lumberjacks to eke into a cover.
