The Line: Purdue Boilermakers -7 -- Over/Under: 131
The Indiana Hoosiers and the Purdue Boilermakers meet in college basketball action from Mackey Arena on Thursday.
Indiana enters this one at 18-9 so far. In the last four games, Indiana is 3-1 with a loss to Michigan and wins over Iowa, Minnesota and Penn State otherwise in that time.
In the win over Penn State, Indiana’s lead scorer was Aljami Durham with 14 points, three rebounds and one assist. Trayce Jackson-Davis added 13 points and 10 rebounds in that one, and Devonte Green had 10 points, three assists and one board.
Over on the Purdue side, they’re 14-14 so far. The Boilermakers are on a four-game losing streak right now, falling to Penn State, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan in their last quartet.
In the loss to Michigan, Purdue’s lead scorer was Trevion Williams with 18 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Sasha Stefanovic added 13 points and four rebounds in that one, and Evan Boudreax had 15 rebounds with four points scored.
Purdue is 0-3-1 ATS in the last four after a straight-up loss and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven Thursday games. Purdue is 0-3-1 ATS in their last four overall and the over is 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, Indiana is 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 after a straight-up win. The under is 11-5 in Indiana’s last 16 overall and 7-2 in their last nine road games.
The Big Ten is one of the most talented conferences in the country right now, and every game is a surprise in one form or another. Indiana has been great defensively over their last two games, holding Minnesota and Penn State to a combined 116 points. The Hoosiers need these lower-scoring games since they haven’t been all that consistent offensively.
As for Purdue, they’ve had some hits and misses this season and have been beaten up at home by a couple of ranked teams over the last pair there, but I like the Boilermakers to regroup. I’m going Purdue on a cover here in a great game.
