The Line: La Salle Explorers +4 -- Over/Under: 134.5
The St. Bonaventure Bonnies and the La Salle Explorers meet in A-10 conference college basketball action from the Tom Gola Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The St. Bonaventure Bonnies will try to leapfrog some teams down the stretch, sitting at 10-5 in conference play after an 81-77 loss to Duquesne last time out. Kyle Lofton leads the Bonnies in scoring and assists with 14.2 PPG and 6.1 APG while Jaren English and Dominick Welch each have 11.7 PPG this season with Welch adding 7 RPG while Osun Osunniyi has 11.2 PPG and a team-high 8.9 RPG this season. As a team, St. Bonaventure is averaging 69.3 points on 43.7% shooting from the field, 33.9% from 3-point range and 72.9% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 66.1 points on 41.6% shooting from the field and 33.2% from 3-point range this season. St. Bonaventure is 7-5 straight up and 6-6 against the spread on the road this season.
The La Salle Explorers will try to leapfrog George Mason in the A-10 standings, tied at 4-11 in conference play after a 74-49 loss to Davidson last time out. David Beatty leads La Salle in scoring with 10.3 PPG while Ed Croswell has 10 PPG and 7.3 RPG and Ayinde Hikim is dishing out a team-high 3.4 APG this season. As a team, La Salle is averaging 67.6 points on 41.3% shooting from the field, 34.2% from 3-point range and 65.7% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 69.7 points on 42.4% shooting from the field and 29.9% from 3-point range this season. La Salle is 7-6 straight up and 8-5 against the spread at home this season.
The Bonnies have had some issues lately, but the weird thing is that St. Bonaventure has been taking care of business away from home, and doing it against teams they should beat away from home, including Saint Joseph’s and Fordham and I’d lump La Salle into that group. The Explorers have been a better team at home than on the road, but La Salle still aren’t a great team, and I think that the Bonnies do enough to get a win and cover on the road here.
