The Portland State Vikings and the Weber State Wildcats meet in college basketball action from Dee Events Center on Saturday.
Portland State comes into this one at 15-14 so far. Since their last loss to Eastern Washington, Portland State has taken out Idaho, Montana State and Idaho State during their last three games.
In the win over Idaho State, Portland State’s Holland Woods led the charge on 29 points, four assists and one rebound. Sal Nuhu posted a double-double there with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Matt Hauser chipped in 14 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Over on the Weber State side, they’re 11-16 this year. After dropping consecutive games recently to Montana and Montana State, Weber State got a victory their last time out versus Southern Utah.
In the win over Southern Utah, Weber State’s top scorer was Cody John with 28 points, eight rebounds and one assist. Jerrick Harding added 22 points with six rebounds and five assists there, and Michal Kozak had 12 points, seven rebounds and one assist.
Weber State is 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games and 4-0 ATS in their last four home games. Weber State is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up win and the over is 4-1 in their last five overall.
Meanwhile, Portland State is 11-3-1 ATS in their last 15 Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Portland State is 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus a team with a losing straight-up record and the over is 5-0 in their last five overall.
Over the last five games, Portland State has been putting up some nice points totals. They’ve been over 80 points in each of those games, and only have an 89-81 loss to Eastern Washington as a blemish during that time. None of the Portland State wins were really that close, either.
In any case, Weber State hung 82 on Southern Utah, but prior to that they’d managed just 63 against Montana State and an ice-cold 37 versus Montana. Weber State has been pretty unpredictable when it comes to output, so I feel safer here on Portland State.
