The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and the North Texas Mean Green meet in college basketball action from UNT Coliseum on Sunday.
Western Kentucky enters this one at 19-9 overall. In the last six games, Western Kentucky is 5-1, losing to Charlotte while beating LA Tech, Southern Miss, UTEP, UTSA and LA Tech again in that time.
In the latest win over Louisiana Tech, Western Kentucky’s Taveion Hollingsworth led the team on 43 points, six rebounds and three assists. Carson Williams added 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists there, and Camron Justice put up 14 points two rebounds and one assist.
Over on the North Texas side, they’re 19-10 this year. North Texas is also 5-1 in their last six, falling to LA Tech and beating Middle Tennessee, UAB, Charlotte, ODU and FIU in that stretch.
In the win over FIU, North Texas’ Umoja Gibson topped the team on 23 points, three rebounds and two assists. Zachary Simmons added 15 points with four rebounds and one assist there, and Javion Hamlet had 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds.
North Texas is 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 Sunday games and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 home games. North Texas is 17-5 ATS in their last 22 overall and the over is 5-2 in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, Western Kentucky is 0-3-1 ATS in their last four Sunday games and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 after an ATS win. The over is 4-0 in Western Kentucky’s last four Sunday games and 5-1-1 in their last seven road games.
Western Kentucky has been scoring pretty consistently these days. The Hilltoppers have put up 70 or more in five of their last seven games. That said, Western Kentucky is also pretty permissive defensively right now, with 72 or more points allowed in four of their last five outings.
That helps out for North Texas, who has been at 71 or more points in six of their last seven games. This should be a pretty competitive game and a fun one to watch. With the home push I like North Texas a little more here though.
