The Alabama A&M Bulldogs and the Prairie View A&M Panthers meet in college basketball action from William Nicks Building on Monday.
Alabama A&M enters this game at 7-19 so far. In the last five games, Alabama A&M is 1-4, beating Alcorn State while falling otherwise to MS Valley, Alabama State, Southern U and Texas Southern.
In the loss to Texas Southern, Alabama A&M’s Cameron Alford, Cameron Tucker and Evan Wiley tied for the team scoring lead on 10 points apiece. That trio also combined for seven assists and six rebounds for Alabama A&M there as well.
Over on the Prairie View A&M side, they’re 17-11 this year. It’s been a seven-game win streak for Prairie View, and they’ve taken out Alabama A&M, Texas Southern, Grambling State, Jackson State, AR-Pine Bluff, MS Valley and Alabama State in succession.
In the win over Alabama State, Prairie View A&M’s top scorer was Devonte Patterson with 21 points, eight rebounds and one assist. Antoine Lister added 15 points and two rebounds there, and Gerard Andrus had 10 points, seven rebounds and one assist.
Prairie View A&M is 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight Monday games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine after an ATS loss. The under is 5-2 in Prairie View A&M’s last seven home games and 5-2 in the last seven home games versus a team with a losing road record.
Meanwhile, Alabama A&M is 0-5 ATS in their last five Monday games and 17-6 ATS in their last 23 after an ATS loss. The under is 8-1 in Alabama A&M’s last nine road games and 14-2 in the last 16 overall.
Needless to say, there’s not much to like about Alabama A&M right now, as they’ve been destroyed in their last two games by a combined score of 149-95. The offense just isn’t there for AL A&M; they’ve been below 70 points in six of their last seven games.
Prairie View has their issues with consistency as well, but during this win streak they’ve been playing pretty solid ball. Defensively they’ve been solid, allowing fewer than 70 points in each of their last 12 games. I can’t find many reasons not to take Prairie View A&M here.
