The Arkansas State Red Wolves and the Georgia Southern Eagles meet in college basketball action from Hanner Fieldhouse on Tuesday.
Arkansas State comes into this one at 15-15 this year. Currently, Arkansas State is on an eight-game losing streak, and they’ve fallen to Texas State, LA-Monroe, Little Rock and Louisiana in their last four.
In the loss to Louisiana, Arkansas State’s leading scorer was Marquis Eaton with 28 points, three assists and one rebound. Canberk Kus doubled up there with 12 points, 10 rebounds and one assist, and Caleb Fields added 11 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
Over on the Georgia Southern side, they’re 18-12 on the season. After losing consecutive games to Appalachian State and Texas State, Georgia Southern has won their last pair over TX-Arlington and Georgia State.
In the win over Georgia State, Georgia Southern’s Isaiah Crawley put up 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists, and Ike Smith had 15 points, six rebounds and two assists. Calvin Wishart chipped in 12 points, three rebounds and three assists there as well.
Georgia Southern is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 Tuesday games and the over is 3-0-1 in the last four Tuesday games. The under is 5-2 in Georgia Southern’s last seven home games and 5-0 in their last five overall.
Meanwhile, Arkansas State is 4-1 ATS in their last five Tuesday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games. The over is 10-3 in Arkansas State’s last 13 overall and 5-2 in the last seven road games.
Arkansas State’s eight-game losing streak is pretty bad, but they’ve at least been close in the majority of those outings. The Red Wolves were within three points of Little Rock and three of Louisiana, and they’ve also hit 74 or more points in both those games.
As for Georgia Southern, they had a bit of a drought going themselves with 57 against Appalachian State and 55 versus Texas State, but they’ve hit 79 in both their last two. I like Georgia Southern to keep it rolling here and cover in what should be a fairly high-scoring matchup.
