The Tulsa Golden Hurricane come into this one come into this one fighting for top spot in the AAC standings, sitting at 12-4 in conference play with a 3rd straight win and 5th in their last 6 outings after a 65-54 win over UCF last time out. The Temple Owls will try to join the fray in the middle of the AAC to finish the year, sitting at 6-10 in conference play after a 3rd straight loss in the form of a 64-58 loss to USF last time out. Quinton Rose leads Temple in scoring and assists with 16.3 PPG and 3.5 APG while Nate Pierre-Louis has 11.5 PPG and a team-high 8.4 RPG for the Owls this season. As a team, Temple is averaging 69.1 points on 40.8% shooting from the field, 32.2% from 3-point range and 68.5% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 68.2 points on 39.9% shooting from the field and 31.1% from 3-point range this season. Temple is 8-6 straight up and 6-8 against the spread at home this season.
Head-to-head, the home team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
I understand that the home team has had all of the recent success against the number in this matchup, and this is senior night for Temple and Temple’s leading scorer, Quinton Rose will be having his last home game so I’d imagine Temple gets up for this game. However, We’re getting a free bucket with a Tulsa team that’s playing way better basketball right now, and is in a dogfight for the regular season AAC title. I just think that as emotional as Senior night can be, Tulsa has too much at stake to let Temple pass through, so I’ll take a shot with the Golden Hurricane and the points in this one.
