The Washington Huskies and the Arizona State Sun Devils meet in Pac-12 conference college basketball action from Desert Financial Arena on Thursday night.
The Washington Huskies will try to build some confidence in their last couple of games, sitting at 3-13 in conference play after a 78-74 loss to Washington State last time out. Isaiah Stewart leads Washington in scoring and rebounding with 16.7 PPG and 8.6 RPG while Jaden McDaniels is 2nd in scoring and tops in assists with 12.7 PPG and 2.1 APG this season. Nahziah Carter is 3rd in scoring for the Huskies with 12.4 PPG for Washington this season. As a team, Washington is averaging 70 points on 44.1% shooting from the field, 32.7% from 3-point range and 70.6% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 65.6 points on 38.1% shooting from the field and 30.5% from 3-point range this season. Washington is 1-7 straight up and 1-7 against the spread on the road this season.
The Arizona State Sun Devils will try to create some noise at the top of the Pac-12 standings, sitting at 10-6 in conference play after a 71-61 loss to USC last time out. Remy Martin leads Arizona State in scoring and assists with 19.6 PPG and 4 APG while Alonzo Verge JR. has 14.2 PPG and Rob Edwards has 11.3 PPG this season. Romello White has 10.3 PPG and a team-high 9.1 RPG this season. As a team, Arizona State is averaging 73.2 points on 43% shooting from the field, 32.5% from 3-point range and 68.8% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 69.7 points on 42.8% shooting from the field and 33.2% from 3-point range this season. Arizona State is 12-2 straight up and 7-7 against the spread at home this season.
Head-to-head, the road team is 21-10 ATS in the last 31 meetings between these two teams.
The road team has had a lot of success in this matchup, but the problem for me is that the Huskies just haven’t had much success of any kind in general during conference play this entire year. Arizona State has been one of the more consistent teams at home all year long and I don’t see any reason that changes here with a reasonable line as well. I’ll lay the points with Arizona State at home here.
