The Line: Bowling Green Falcons -2.5 -- Over/Under: 156
The Buffalo Bulls and the Bowling Green Falcons meet in college basketball action from the Stroh Center on Friday night.
The Buffalo Bulls will try to finish the season strong, sitting at 10-7 in conference play after an 86-73 loss to Akron last time out. Jayvon Graves leads Buffalo in scoring with 16.9 PPG while Jeenathan Williams has 11.6 PPG and Davonta Jordan has 11.4 PPG and a team-high 5.3 APG this season. Antwain Johnson has 11.2 PPG and Josh Mballa has 10.6 PPG and a team-high 9.6 RPG this season. As a team, Buffalo is averaging 78.3 points on 43% shooting from the field, 32% from 3-point range and 66.8% from 3-point range this season while allowing opposing teams to average 75.2 points on 43.5% shooting from the field and 30.9% from 3-point range this season. Buffalo is 6-4 straight up and 6-4 against the spread on the road this season.
The Bowling Green Falcons will try to pull even with Akron at the top of the MAC East division, sitting at 12-5 in conference play after an 83-69 loss to Kent State last time out. Justin Turner leads Bowling Green in scoring with 18.6 PPG while Dylan Frye has 13.1 PPG and a team-high 4 APG and Daeqwon Plowden has 12.8 PPG and 8.5 RPG this season. As a team, Bowling Green is averaging 41.8 points on 33.4% shooting from the field and 74.8% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 72.4 points on 41.5% shooting from the field and 33% from 3-point range this season. Bowling Green is 13-1 straight up and 2-8-2 against the spread at home this season.
I’ve gone back and forth on this game and while Bowling Green has been winning games at home, covering has been the issue. However, Buffalo is locked in where they are at this point as a win wouldn’t help them catch the Falcons and it could only help with momentum. A win for Bowling Green could help them catch Akron, and with help from Kent State (who are playing Akron on Friday), the Falcons could finish the year with a share of the regular season MAC title. Plus the line is low enough that a win and cover by Bowling Green really isn’t out of the question, so I’ll lay the bucket with Bowling Green at home here.
