The Line: Cal State-Fullerton Titans -5.5 -- Over/Under: 141
The Long Beach State 49ers and the Cal State Fullerton Titans meet in college basketball action from Titan Gym on Saturday.
Long Beach State comes into this one at 12-20 overall. In their last four games, Long Beach State is 2-2, falling to CSU Northridge and UC Davis while otherwise beating UC Riverside and Cal Poly.
In the win over Cal Poly, Long Beach State’s top scorer was Jordan Griffin with 18 points and five rebounds. Joshua Morgan doubled up there with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Drew Cobb chipped in 13 points, three assists and two rebounds for LBSU.
Over on the Cal State Fullerton side, they’re 10-21 so far. Currently Cal State Fullerton is on a four-game losing streak, falling to UC Santa Barbara twice, Cal State Fullerton and CSU Northridge in that time.
In the latest loss to UCSB, Cal State Fullerton’s leading scorer was Brandon Kamga with 17 points, one rebound and one assist. Austin Awosika added 14 points, eight rebounds and two assists there, and Jackson Rowe had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Long Beach State is 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS win. Long Beach State is 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 Saturday games and the under is 5-2 in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, Cal State Fullerton is 3-13 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games and 6-20-1 ATS in their last 27 home games. Cal State Fullerton is 1-5 ATS in their last six overall and the over is 8-3 in their last 11 overall.
Long Beach State hasn’t exactly been inspiring on the scoreboard lately, posting fewer than 70 points in five of their last seven games. That said, LBSU has put up a few good defensive performances here and there and it hasn’t been all bad.
Still, with Cal State Fullerton on a bad downward trend themselves right now, I don’t see the Titans making much of an impact here. I’m going to stick with Long Beach State on the cover. Should be an interesting game, however.
