The Line: Missouri Tigers -1 -- Over/Under: 152.5
The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Missouri Tigers meet in college basketball action from Mizzou Arena on Saturday.
Alabama enters this one at 16-14 so far. Over the last five games, Alabama is 2-3, beating Mississippi and South Carolina while falling to Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt otherwise.
In the loss to Vanderbilt, Alabama’s Kira Lewis put up 30 points with eight assists and four rebounds. James Bolden added 24 points with three rebounds and one assist there, and Jaden Shackelford had 18 points, four rebounds and one assist.
Over on the Missouri side, they’re 14-15 this year. Across their last four outings, Missouri has posted a 1-3 mark, beating Vanderbilt and otherwise falling to Arkansas, Mississippi State and Mississippi.
In the loss to Ole Miss, Missouri’s Xavier Pinson led the team on 16 points, five assists and four rebounds. The only other Missouri player in double-figures there was Jeremiah Tilmon, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds for Missouri in that one.
Missouri is 2-5 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine after an ATS loss. The over is 7-1 in Missouri’s last eight home games and 6-2 in their last eight overall.
Meanwhile, Alabama is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss. Alabama is 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and the over is 6-2 in their last eight overall.
Alabama really had no business losing to Vanderbilt at home during their last outing, but here we are. The Tide have shown flashes of brilliance this season, but those have been interspersed with bouts of futility, and the team can’t decide where it wants to be.
That said, Missouri has been pretty vulnerable themselves as of late, with 68 or fewer points in each of their last four games. Alabama got an 88-74 home win the last time these teams met up, and I think the Tide can pull it off again if they show up to play. I’m going Alabama, but realistically staying away from this one.
