The Sacramento State Hornets and the Portland State Vikings meet in college basketball action from Stott Center on Saturday.
Sacramento State comes into this game at 15-13 so far. After recently taking consecutive games over Idaho and Montana State, Sacramento State lost their last outing versus Montana.
In the loss to Montana, Sacramento State’s Osi Nwachukwu led the way on 20 points, one assist and six rebounds. Joshua Patton had 19 points with nine rebounds and one assist there, and Izayah Mauriohooho-Le’afa added 15 points with four rebounds and one assist.
Over on the Portland State side, they’re 18-14 so far. Currently Portland State is on a five-game win streak, taking out Idaho, Montana State, Idaho State, Weber State and Northern Arizona in that time.
In the win over Northern Arizona, Portland State’s Matt Hauser put up 21 points with six assists and four rebounds. Holland Woods added 15 points with five assists and four rebounds there, and Alonzo Walker had 12 points and three rebounds.
Portland State is 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games and 5-1 ATS in their last six home games. Portland State is 5-0 ATS in their last five overall and the over is 6-1 in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, Sacramento State is 11-5 ATS in their last six road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall. The over is 5-0-1 in Sacramento State’s last six overall and the under is 8-3-1 in their last 12 road games.
Sacramento State is just 2-3 in their last five games, but on the whole they’ve at least been competitive during that time. Each of the three losses has come by eight points or fewer, and dating back to their last seven Sacramento State is 4-3.
As for Portland State, they’ve been scoring quite well over their last eight games, and on the whole they seem to be taking care of lesser teams pretty well. Provided they play to their potential, I like Portland State to power out a cover here. This one should be a relatively high-scoring affair overall and a fun one to watch.
